Date: 7/16/2001 Time: 7:59 AM Issue: Core Router Outage Description: We are aware of a router outage and we're currently working to resolve the problem. This outage will result in extremely slow connections to our network with latency between 3000-4000ms. ---UPDATE--- The issue has been resolved after locating a co-located machine that was compromised and launched a denial of service attack against our core routers. The customer was notified and the machine was disconnected from our network while we corrected the issue. We are currently implementing additional hardware to prevent such attacks inside our network.
